She is a Gender advocate and practitioner with several years of experience in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment at national, regional and international levels.
Has worked in different contexts in Africa, Asia, Latin America focusing on knowledge transfer on gender mainstreaming in institutions such as Parliaments, democracy and governance processes and systems, management of electoral processes from a gender perspective and additional empowerment strategies for women in politics. Has an in-depth knowledge and wide exposure to the full range of issues in related fields of conflict prevention and peace building and HIV/AIDS.
Master of Policy Studies: specialization in Gender in Policy Making (2000), Postgraduate Diploma in Women’s Law (1996) and B.Sc. Honours Degree in Sociology (1990)
